How Does LinkedIn Strategy Work?

To find out what works with your LinkedIn audience, I’ll begin by assessing your performance and that of your competitors. Next, I'll  combine this information with my knowledge of best practice principles, to set a research-based strategy just for you. 

This strategy will contain practical recommendations, including:

  • How to optimise your LinkedIn headline & bio
  • How often & when to post
  • Content types to create, e.g. PDFs, text-only, article links
  • Content topics distribution, e.g. 10% organisational updates, 30% news stories, 25% research
  • Which accounts to target & how to target them

How Does Ongoing Management Work?

Once we’ve developed a strategy you’re happy with, I can action it for you - or you can do this yourself. We can discuss whether you’d like support from me in the following areas:

  • Content planning, post writing and scheduling
  • Image creation
  • Live engagement (e.g. responding to messages, sharing updates)
  • Performance reporting (usually quarterly)

LinkedIn Strategy Process

  1. Questionnaire

    First, you’ll complete a short questionnaire identifying your audience, goals and competitors. This helps me to create a LinkedIn strategy that achieves results for you.

  2. LinkedIn Access

    Second, you’ll grant me access to your LinkedIn page. This lets me view your analytics to understand what’s been working and to record current performance for later comparison.

  3. Research

    Third, I’ll crunch the numbers! I’ll look at post types, timings, frequency, headlines and bios that perform best in your niche.

  4. Strategy Creation

    Fourth, I’ll create a strategy for you. You’ll get a written report and we’ll talk it through so you understand my reasoning and recommendations.

  5. Action

    Next, I can implement your new strategy and manage your account for you. I usually recommend a trial period of 3-4 months with a performance report to track progress and hone your strategy as we see how your audience is responding. Or you can do this part yourself!

  6. Ongoing Management

    Lastly, if you’re happy, we can continue to work together with a 1 month rolling notice period on both sides. It’s that simple! You can also opt for a quarterly report to see how your account is performing.
